After countless “are we there yet?”s along our 2.5 hour drive, we finally made it to Webber Lake Campground. This little treasure was recommended to me back in January, and it did not disappoint. As soon as the booking window opened up, I secured a site for September 1st. I took a chance on #6, even though the website stated it can get windy there. It was the closest to the shoreline, making the SUP pull a piece of cake. The campground had several sites open, but even if completely full it would still feel secluded. All of the sites are very spacious and far enough away from neighboring sites and the day use area, that we had all the privacy we wanted.

I would definitely rebook site #6 again. The wind did come up for a bit in the late afternoon, but died down so that we could safely build a fire. Lilly was so anxious to roast her first marshmallows, she could barely sit still for a pic. I wanted to take more, but felt like it was ruining our experience. The chocolate/marshmallow face will just have to stay a memory in my mind 💗 After dinner, Lilly learned how to play Go Fish!, Pick Up Sticks and Checkers!

Our final hours here on September 2nd. Lilly decided she wanted to give Stargazer a hug because she had such a good time. Looking back at our campsite, we relished the glass-like lake surface and crystal clear water. And just a side note, turn right out of the campground to get back to Sac. Without signal for GPS, I ended up turning the wrong way out of the campsite. We drove for about 30 minutes before the road towards Jackson meadows turned into something only an ORV could handle. It did offer a nice view of the back side of the lake, though. Lilly was such a trooper. Thankfully, she slept most of the way home. Bye bye for now, Webber Lake. Lilly and I will hold precious memories of our time with you.
